As per our previous update, LCU continues to run business as usual and there have been no disruptions to any core services..

This week we warn our members to stay alert as scammers find new ways to take advantage during this pandemic.

In other news, we are pleased to advise that the daily limit for payWave (tap and go/contactless payments) is now $500 plus read below to find out what our newest staff member, Sally Boswell, is up to.

Puppy Scams

With many of us isolated at home, there has been growing demand for puppies as people turn to pets for companionship. As with any trend, scammers are seeking to take advantage by posting fake ads, and securing fees ostensibly for transportation or other costs.

Make sure you're dealing with a reputable business or person before proceeding. Read more about typical puppy scams on Scamwatch:

LCU Contactless Daily Limits: Temporary Increase

In line with the payment industry, we have also chosen to increase the total (cumulative) daily contactless limit from $200 to $500.

This change has now been implemented meaning you can spend up to $500 per day using contactless payment methods (payWave with your card, digital wallets etc)

Rest assured, we will continue to monitor your account through our predictive fraud systems and alert you to any unusual activity. It is vital that you continue to keep your card safe at all times to protect against theft and check your account often. If you lose your card or have any concerns about unauthorised transactions on your account, please contact us immediately.
