Out of office hours

Alternatively you can call Visa services directly.

These numbers should only to be used to report your lost or stolen VISA cards outside of normal business hours:

  • 1800 648 027 (Toll-free national)
  • +61 2 8299 9101 (International) or call the VISA International Hotline specific to the country you are in.
  • If you're outside of Australia you can also notify any financial institution displaying the VISA logo, then advise LCU by phone or fax as soon as possible

Card security

You will be issued with your own personal identification number (PIN). Once you have received your PIN, we will send out your Visa Debit Card. You will be required to enter your PIN to authorise any ATM, POS, Non-payWave or payWave over $100 transactions. It is therefore very important that your PIN is memorised and not stored with your card for security.

PIN security

You should follow the guidelines below to protect against unauthorised use of plastic card and PIN. These guidelines provide examples of security measures only and will not determine your liability for any losses resulting from unauthorised EFT Transactions. Liability for such transactions are contained within the conditions of use of the card outlined in our Account & Access Facility - Terms of Conditions. 

Card Security guidelines

  • Sign the card as soon as you receive it
  • Keep the card in a safe place
  • If you change the PIN, you must not select a PIN that represents your birth date or recognisable part of your name
  • Never write the PIN on the card
  • Never lend the card to anybody
  • Never tell or show the PIN to another person
  • Use care to prevent anyone seeing you enter your PIN
  • If you lose your card, immediately report the loss or theft to LCU
  • Immediately phone or email  LCU if there are any changes to your address
