Quick1 and easy
A telegraphic transfer is an electronic credit of funds into an overseas bank account. Transfers are available in a wide range of currencies.
Transfers are sent via a network of correspondent banks.
If the funds are needed urgently, a telegraphic transfer is normally your best overseas transfer option.
LCU takes its Anti Money1 Laundering & Counter Terrorism responsibilities very seriously. As a result, you must provide us with an address1 of the sender and receiver of your transfer, as well as all the account details you want to send the funds to. A new requirement is that, for all transfers to European countries, you must tell us the IBAN2 (International Bank Account Number) of the receiver.
Please note that you must be registered for multi-factor authentication (SMS One Time Password) to use the telegraphic transfer option within Internet Banking.
With account details or an Inward Telegraphic Transfer powered by Convera Australia Pty Ltd
When receiving funds to your LCU account from overseas you have two options.
With an Inward Telegraphic Transfer powered by Convera Australia Pty Ltd
An Inward Telegraphic Transfer (also known as an “Inward Wire”) is an electronic transfer of funds directly credited to your account from an overseas remitter. In most cases, a TT is the quickest way to receive funds from abroad (a TT will normally take one-to-three business days to be credited to your account, although this can never be guaranteed).
The remitter should send the funds in their own currency, and Convera will convert them into Australian Dollars before forwarding to Laboratories Credit Union for credit to your account. Funds can be sent in a range of currencies and will be received in Australian Dollars.
Better value for you – you are not charged a beneficiary deduct fee, so you will receive the full amount
Better value for senders – no fee is charged by Convera to process your payment.
Peace of mind – you can be confident that their payments are being handled by foreign exchange specialists

2. IBAN is used in some countries to uniquely identify a customer’s bank account. An IBAN is necessary for payments being sent from Australia to an IBAN mandatory country.
