Hosted by Dr. Scott Martin and Dr. Bob Steele, the event featured an inspiring keynote from Dr. Douglas Bock, Director of Space and Astronomy and Director of the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF), who shared reflections on his career and the importance of scholarships and travel.

LCU CEO, Helen Lorigan, presented scholarship awards to this year’s recipients who attended the ceremony in person.
The recipient of the LCU McDonald Clark Award for the highest ATAR in 2025, Arianne Bannister, was recognised for her outstanding academic achievement and will study a Bachelor of Philosophy at the Australian National University.
In addition, Emma Paterson, recipient of the 2025 CSIRO Alumni Scholarship in Physics, will use her scholarship to strengthen collaboration between the Quantum Technologies and Dark Matter Research Lab (QDM) at The University of Western Australia and Jefferson Lab in the United States. Her research focuses on developing high-Q twisted superconducting resonators for the detection of ultra-light dark matter.
